Name: Maki Sohma.
Gender: Female.
Age: 8; 5th July.
Animal: Rabbit (Usagi).
Description: Maki looks a lot younger than she actually is, which can and has led to some misunderstandings. Long, platinum blonde hair falls from the top of her head to the small of her back, and is usually drawn into pigtails with different coloured ribbon. Her eyes are wide and innocent, chocolate brown in colour and surrounded by thick eyelashes in the same shade of blonde as her hair. Her skin is a pale ivory in colour, and never seems to tan, as she is kept covered in the summer months. Everything about Maki is small, from her height to her shoe size.
Dress wise, out of school uniform Maki is pushed into baby doll dresses that make her seem even younger than she is. The colours used on her dresses range from virginal whites to many more pastel shades, and different kinds of lace and frills are used on the edges of her dresses, including the cuffs of her sleeves. Her shorts are also typically adorned in lace. On her legs, the only skin visible is that of her knees, for right beneath them begins her knee high socks. They are usually held up with ribbon, and her shoes are usually quaint simple dress shoes or ankle high boots,

Personality: Maki has a loud personality, but it’s as if the volume is on mute. When she first meets someone, she is shy and quiet beyond belief, always nervous about the impression she is giving off. She will speak very little, making her responses seem like curt retorts. Around people she knows and is comfortable around, however, she can be very outgoing and cheerful. It all really depends on whom she is around, where she is, and how many people are there.
Her appearance gives off a frail, innocent, and clueless effect, which, in fact, is true. She knows very little about how hard the real world can be, and there are many things she does not understand. This also makes her quite naïve and gullible, a large flaw in her personality.
History: Maki Sohma was born prematurely, as are many of the jyuunishi children. Many mothers and fathers bearing the cursed clan made one of two choices: reject their child or be protective of them. Maki’s parents chose the former, not the latter. They wouldn't look at their daughter, let alone show her any compassion. They didn't beat her, or rave at her… they just pretended the girl didn't even exist. Rather than let others catch on, Maki kept to herself and spoke little to her fellow peers.
When Maki turned six, her parents just couldn’t take it anymore. After much talking with other family members, her mother’s sister agreed to take Maki in. At first, Maki was unsure about her new home, and if the curse was going to ruin it again. However, her aunt fawned over her, buying the young girl dresses and toys, and treating her in a maternal manner. Eventually, Maki began to trust the woman, and as she had no spouse, the curse really didn’t play a role in their relationship. However, Maki still speaks very little of her home life.
Other: Maki has an unusually nice singing voice, and is in her school choir.
IC:
The day was beginning to waver, as elementary schoolers piled out into the arms of their parents. Away from the group was a small, platinum blonde girl on the swing set, swaying to and fro slightly but not looking up. She was used to this… there would be days on end when her parents didn’t pick her up and sensei would have to drop her off. Humming a quiet tune to herself, the usagi rocked on her heels lightly and set the swing in motion. I shouldn’t be upset…
“Sorry I’m late!”
Maki looked up at the new voice, to see a middle aged woman sprinting through the gates. The woman stopped short of the swings and gave an apologetic grin, “Oden is harder to make than it looks! The kitchen is a little scorched…” Amidst the sheepish apologies, the young girl smiled. I shouldn’t be upset.
